Summer Term Performances Announced

We are delighted to announce that in the coming months, InitiateYDC will be performing a number of new works in and around Milton Keynes.

Following performances of Don't... Initiate have been invited to perform at three different events and couldn't be more excited to be creating new work to bring to new audiences!

The first of these will be created by Artistic Director Chris Bradley for MÓTUS 2015: RESPONSE, fo which Chris is an assistant director. The 2014 festival saw the debut of InitiateYDC, who performed Am I Missing Something? in Margaret Powell Square. This year, the festival will take the guise of a promenade performance beginning at the MK Gallery and gently moving through a number of sites travelling right out to the Light Pyramid in Campbell Park before returning to the MK Rose for a finale. The company are very pleased to be part of MÓTUS again and look forward to performing at the festival on the 31st May.

The second performance this summer will take place at Stony Live in Stony Stratford on June 6th. Initate will perform new work Socially Awkward - a tongue in cheek look at the development of the social dance through the ages. Keep your eyes peeled - you might spot a dance craze or two that you yourself have been a part of!

Our third event will take at the MK Rose. For The Fallen is a collaboration between Chris, Helen Parlor and Effie McGuire Ward and textile artist Vinny Stapely. Vinny has been busy working with groups all around the city to create an army of flags and banners commerating and remebering the soldiers, nurses, civilians and events of World War I. Part of the Great War MK project spearheaded by The Arts and Heritage alliance, For The Fallen will see a diverse cross section of the MIlton Keynes community come together to perform a poignant and moving testament to World War I on July 5th.

A busy term! If you'd like anymore information about any of these events, please email Chris at initiateydc@gmail.com
